Macy Meinema is from Lacombe Alberta and is in their first year with the Vikings, playing primarily as a guard/forward. She is enrolled in a Bachelor of Management majoring in Business Economics and one day hopes to become a lawyer. Meinema chose to come to Augustana because of the welcoming team atmosphere and small town vibe.
Macy Participated on the Central Alberta Basketball Knights team earning Gold at zones, received MVP of the league in her final season, and was awarded female basketball player of her school. She also was awarded the Golden ruler twice at NBC camps.
When Meinema is not on the Basketball court you can find her reading, jamming to music or hanging with friends. Her favorite book is The Kite Runner, her favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast and her favorite food is popcorn.
One of her favorite inspirational quotes is: “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard”
Macy is greatly supported by her parents Cindy and Joute, as well as her two favorite pups Sawyer and Scout.
