1.What position do you play?

I am a guard. 

2. How long have you played your sport? Where did you play your high school and club sports? 

I’ve played basketball since grade nine. This is my fourth year playing. Before that I was involved in several other sports. I’ve spent my high school years at Carlton Comprehensive High School, playing for the Crusaders. I spend my club seasons playing for Golden Ticket Thunder out of Prince Albert

3. What are your personal goals as a player at Augustana? 

My personal goals as a player at Augustana are to show up everyday ready to compete and be the best teammate I can be. I want to become a stronger basketball player, both physically and mentally. I want to execute my role to the best of my ability. I hope to build lasting relationships with my teammates both on and off the court. 

4. What academic program are you enrolled in and why? 

I am taking a Bachelor of Science - Undeclared Major. I chose this program because science really interests me, and further down the road I hope to have a career that is science related. I decided to be undecided to keep my options open! 

5. Why did you choose Augustana Campus and the University of Alberta? 

I chose the Augustana Campus because I love the community feel of it. I also think that Camrose is a beautiful city. Both of my parents graduated from the University of Alberta, so being that Augustana is affiliated with the U of A was definitely a big contributor to my decision. I also like that it is a smaller campus, which appeals to me because it feels much more connected than a bigger campus. 

6. Who is someone that inspired you to play? 

There have been many people that have inspired and influenced me in my basketball career. My biggest inspiration is my dad, who absolutely loved the game, and always pushed me to be the best I could be. My coaches are also huge inspirations to me and how they put so much time and effort into the game. They have also given me so many opportunities and tools for me to succeed. My mom has also inspired me to play because she is always there for me and supports me in achieving my goals. 

7. What other hobbies do you have? 

I enjoy spending time outside, reading, puzzles, and time with family and friends. Some of my favourite things to do outside are walking with my dog, hunting and fishing. 

8. What drives you to succeed? 

What drives me to succeed is knowing that every little bit of work will contribute to the bigger picture. Knowing that working hard will pay off in the long run is a huge motivator for me. Being the best I can be and being aware that there is always room for improvement no matter how big or small pushes me to succeed. Making the people around me proud also drives me to keep pushing.
