CAMROSE, AB- The Augustana Vikings Curling team is ready to turn the page and set a new tone as they open their ACAC campaign this Friday, November 21st, at the season’s first tournament hosted by the SAIT Trojans at the Airdrie Curling Club.
After a challenging year on the ice, the Vikings spent the offseason regrouping, refocusing, and rebuilding their competitive edge. With renewed energy and a strong commitment to growth, this year’s squad enters the season with a clean slate and a clear vision.
Head Coach Steven Lindberg feels confident in the progress his team has made behind the scenes, noting the blend of experience and fresh talent that will shape the Vikings’ identity this year. “Although we have yet to hit the ice, this season shows good promise with an excellent mix of new and old faces. Off-ice training has helped build team unity and camaraderie that should transition to the ice. There is an eagerness to be on the ice and a hunger for success that we're all ready to witness.”
That hunger is evident throughout the roster, as returning players look to raise the bar and newcomers aim to make an immediate impact. With strengthened chemistry, improved preparation, and a resilient mindset, the Vikings are determined to show just how far they’ve come.
As the first rocks of the season get thrown in Airdrie this weekend, Augustana is ready—not just to compete, but to prove that last year’s setbacks have only fueled their drive. The Vikings are back, focused, and fired up for a breakthrough season.
