Vikings Cross-Country Running remain steady

In another strong showing over the past weekend, the Vikings Cross-Country Running team finished in second place for the combined team with two men placing in the top 10 and three women in the top 10 at the Running Room Grand Prix #3, hosted by St. Mary's lightning in Calgary.

Staying consistent over the three Grand Prix races, the women's team had another strong finishing second to the Concordia University Thunder. The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens rounded out the podium in third.

After winning the Grand Prix #2 two weeks ago in Camrose, the Vikings Reese Bendiksen (24:01) finished in second place behind SAIT Trojan Makenna Fitzgerald (22:35). Rounding out the Vikings women's team top 10 finishers was Caitlin Debree (25:37) and Makayla Sheppard (26:38).

Meanwhile, the Vikings men's team had their best finish so far this season with Nathanael Tabert (29:03) finishing eighth and Ben Nawrot (29:12) crossing the finish line in 10th place.

The Vikings will now continue to prepare for the ACAC Championship at the Stoney Creek Centre in Camrose on October 30th. The best runners will then head back south to St. Mary's for the CCAA National Championship, November 13th.
