Terry Honoured as 2019-20 ACAC Women’s Curling Player of the Year

Red Deer, AB (March 3, 2020) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Hannah Terry of the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings has been selected as the 2019-20 ACAC Women's Curling Player of the Year.

Terry and the Vikings went 5-1 at Fall Regionals 3-3 at Winter Regionals and then 4-1 at ACAC Championships with a fantastic last stone clutch shot to win gold. "Hannah is a very skilled, talented, confident skip that is capable of making high-pressure shots look easy," says Head Coach, Roger Galenza. "Evident by her love to being at the rink throwing rocks by herself, Hannah practices hard – she does not want to let anyone down."

Terry is from Lethbridge, Alberta and is in her second year playing for the Augustana Vikings, primarily as a Skip. She is enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Physical Education - Kinesiology and one day hopes to work within the healthcare field. Last season (2018-19), in only her first year as a Viking, Terry led her team to an ACAC silver medal and into the CCAA National Championship, earning a CCAA bronze medal. She was awarded the Vikings Women's Curling MVP in the 2018-2019 season. She coaches with Camrose Curling Academy, and volunteers with the Vikings Little Rockers youth curling program. Next, Terry will skip her Augustana Vikings team at the 2020 CCAA/Curling Canada Championship from March 11-15 in Portage la Prairie. The Vikings will be looking to bring home another CCAA National Championship medal.

This prestigious award was presented to Hannah Terry at the 2020 ACAC Curling Championship held on March 1, 2020 at Red Deer College.
